Email vs LinkedIn InMail: how to contact a hiring manager
Use the channel the recipient or posting asks you to use. Otherwise, email is an option when you have an appropriate work address; InMail can reach a LinkedIn member outside your connections without that address. Neither channel guarantees a reply.
Email and InMail solve different access problems

When email is a reasonable choice
Email makes sense when the employer publishes a contact address or you have confirmed a relevant work address and direct contact is appropriate. Keep the role and requisition ID in the message so the recipient can identify why you are writing.
Check the identity independently of the address. A deliverable email does not establish that the person manages the vacancy, and an accurate person match does not establish that an old address still works. If you are uncertain, resolve that uncertainty before sending.
When InMail is a reasonable choice
InMail can be useful when you have identified a relevant LinkedIn profile but lack an appropriate email address. LinkedIn describes it as a premium feature for messaging members outside your connections. Review the current plan and the options on the recipient’s profile.
Choose it for the contact situation, not because it is assumed to perform better. A concise message still needs a specific role, a credible reason for reaching out, and a manageable request.

Compare costs and results without assuming a winner
Count the whole workflow: researching the person, finding a contact method, writing the note, and tracking the conversation. Consult current plan pages for subscription and usage terms; a feature being available does not mean every account can use it without limits.
This comparison is published by Warmada and is a workflow comparison, not a controlled test of reply rates. We have not established that email or InMail produces better outcomes for the same candidates and roles.
Should you send both an email and an InMail?
Start with one appropriate channel. Sending the same introduction through several channels immediately can create duplicate conversations without adding context. If the recipient replies, continue where they replied unless they ask to move.
Warmada is useful when you want to start with a job posting, review a likely hiring contact, and prepare an email for your connected Gmail. If your contact specifically prefers LinkedIn, follow that preference.
